Jardin des Glaciers

Aug. 5
Jardin des Glaciers
We are still here in Baie-Comeau! After spending Monday and Tuesday getting new cell phones and a new internet connection to our laptop, we decided to check out this new interpretive center called Jardin des Glaciers. It’s an exceptionally well done place with many different types of activities, from multi media, to interactive stuff all done in different tours you can take. Google it. In English it’s called the Garden of the Glaciers. The whole thing is brand new and they’ve built it all in a huge old church built high on a cliff over looking the Gulf of St Lawrence. Essentially it is set up to explain how the Lawrention shield developed during the Ice ages and how the different peoples who have lived here over the ages came here etc. We have spent the last day or so here and will still be here tomorrow till about noon. They let us park in their parking lot for free and we even get to take showers inside the church building. It’s all pretty good really. Tomorrow afternoon we hope to be moving on up the coast a ways but for now we will sleep here another night. Talk to you all later.
